Trump Blasts Don Lemon on Twitter Over CRAZY Interview, But Lemon Has the Last Laugh

Donald Trump's interviews Twitter Don Lemon Abuses

Most of the time, a TV journalist can engage in civil discussion with a guest, and have a good-natured, spirited debate about the issues of the day.

Other times, the guest may be combative and shouty, attempting to win debates by drowning out reasonable arguments with nothing more than loud noises. It’s unfortunate for the TV host, but after a five-minute segment of wasted air time, life moves on.

For the life of me I can’t remember a TV host catching crap for an interview, on Twitter, by the potential President of the United States -- when said host was absolutely in the right. But this is the 2016 American political election, and bonkers stories like this seem to be the norm.

CNN's Don Lemon had on his program Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, to discuss the recent Second Amendment comments made by Trump. Specifically this one, with regard to Hilary’s potential Presidency:

The implication being that someone should use their Second Amendment right to bear arms and assassinate Clinton. Very Presidential.

Now, the only semi-plausible defense the Trump camp can use for this moment is that The Donald meant something else entirely by that comment. What he 'could have meant', they have no idea -- but what else are they supposed to say?

Bongino tried his best to defend Trump, but his best wasn’t pretty. After claiming he was “trying not to break down in laughter” at the other guests saying Trump clearly suggested violence, he accused host Lemon of “[not coming] into this with a clear mind.” Lemon, understandably, finally popped off:

“What you’re saying right now makes no sense! I’m sitting at home, I’m watching Donald Trump. I have two ears and I have two eyes and I can see the reaction. We’re not stupid! You should be ashamed of yourself!”

Bongino’s retort of, “I’m ashamed that you’re talking to me as if I’m a child!” wasn't really about the Trump comment at all. Nor was his next zinger, “You don’t know crap about this, Don! You’re a TV guy! I was a Secret Service Agent!” But that’s about the extent of his dialogue.

Now, clearly Bongino didn’t put up much of a defense here. This argument, whether you’re politically left right or center, was clearly shit.

But one person loved what Bongino did. Guess who.

Bongino replied and has been lapping up praise on Twitter from a lot of people who probably didn't even watch the interview. Lemon, for his part, didn't respond directly. Because he's not 12 years old.

Instead, the next day he shared this little tidbit of news:

Meaning that the Secret Service, Bongino's old bosses, clearly don't agree with him or his 'He didn't mean it!' defense.

I think we can call this fight in favor of Lemon.
