One of the stars of Empire was just arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, according to TMZ.

Morocco Omari plays Lucious’ half-brother on the FOX smash hit, but unfortunately, it seems he’s gotten himself into some hot water off-set. Chicago police responded to a 911 call from an unidentified 24-year old woman. When they arrived on scene, the woman said she’d been shoved to the ground several times during an argument. She claimed to have scratches on her neck and chest, which it appears police verified.

Omari was promptly arrested – which is ironic, in a way, considering he plays an FBI agent on the show.

The actor was able to release a a statement on the incident: “I am deeply saddened by the recent reports and want to say I do not condone nor participate in any forms of violence. While this is an ongoing legal matter, I am unable to further comment. Thank you to my friends, family and fans for your continued support."

His publicist would add that the claims are “blatantly false,” and that, "violence against women simply isn't in Omari's DNA."

No one else who works on Empire has commented on the matter, but in another twist of irony, he’s not the first member of the cast slapped with abuse charges. Terrence Howard has twice had to defend himself from ex-wive’s accusations of violence.
