Beef on Broadway is real, apparently.
James Corden and Neil Patrick Harris just had the funniest, most impressive “Riff Off” in the history of late night TV!
Corden hosted the 2016 Tony Awards – very successfully, we might add – and is rumored to be helming the program in 2017 as well. Which, for the sake of this bit, doesn’t sit well with Barney Stinson.
The angst is understandable -- if you’ve never seen NPH’s introduction to the 2013 Tony awards, stop whatever you’re doing, take eight minutes and watch this now:
So you can see where Harris' jealousy is coming from when interrupts The Late Late Show and says, “Hey Corden, over here.” Tell me you don’t want to say that line before you die.
And it just gets better from there. “I see you going around hosting the Tony’s, acting like you’re the only TV star who can sing Broadway show tunes,” Harris continued. “Some of us, dude, have actually won a Tony!”
It’s sort of like a rap battle, like when B. Rabbit takes down Papa Doc at the end of 8 Mile. Except way, way nerdier.
That doesn’t make it any less hysterical though. Watch two of the most talented men in Hollywood duke it out below!
